Undergraduate Major Blindness

Ultimately, we can only speak for what we ourselves have studied (and, though I didn't mention this in the article, even within a major, we may not know how certain choices within the major affect the situation).

Learning A Foreign Language For Reading Literature

Bonus note: Poetry with a rhyming scheme is best read in its original language. For reasons that should be pretty self-evident. Here's the post.

Playing With Portfolios

I wrote this article almost a month ago. I still haven't done any of the things I said I'd probably do. Well then.

Attention to College Students: How to Keep Track of Your College Grades

I'm not sure if anyone currently in college will stop by for this one, but I hope someone will.  Anyway, here's my recent article about how I keep track of my grades in college.

The Corruption Of Andreia And Thumos In Charlottesville

In this article for The Odyssey Online, I examine the tragedy in Charlottesville this Saturday through the lens of some Greek philosophy.  May the fallen rest in peace.  May the wounded heal rightly.

(Note: I don't wish for my article to serve in any way as a piece trying to profit from tragedy.  I will simply moved to say something, and I hope that what I wrote was worth the writing.)

Articles Relating to Finances and Christianity, Respectively

This week I'm linking to two very different articles from The Odyssey Online.  The first is my article for the week, titled "How I Track My Cash Flow."  It's about my methods for keeping up with my personal finances in a full, easy way.  The second is an article by another student at UPJ, Becca LaBar, that has a really long title.  Ha.  But it's a really good article that's sort of about the relationship between materialism and Christianity.  Even if you aren't a Christian, I think it can still be a good read, especially from a humanist standpoint.  Read that one here.

Raising Your Note-Taking Comfort Score

Whether you're in high school, a two-year college, or a four-year undergraduate school, you'll want to read this article about how to raise your note-taking comfort.

What's On My Writing Desk

Do you ever wonder what the desk of a particular writer looks like?  You can read about my writing desk here.  It's probably not in your top five choices for desk-top content, but maybe it'll be interesting.  There's lots of fun stuff, I promise.

An Overview of the EP Sage And Stone by Avriel and the Sequoias

Have you heard about Avi Kaplan's new group and their new EP? They're making some great folk songs. Take a look at my overview of the album if you'd like to learn a bit more and find links to some of the music videos.

Of A Certain Age

In less than 13 days, I'll be turning twenty.  My latest post for The Odyssey Online offers a reflection as I approach this certain age.

Disclaimers For Anyone Considering Triple-Majoring

Some people seem to think it's crazy to triple-major in college.  I think that, in most cases, it isn't too crazy.  However, I do have some disclaimers for anyone thinking about going with three.  You can read about that here.

(Note: My three majors are: Creative Writing, Multimedia and Digital Culture, and French.)

Major in Focus: Multimedia and Digital Culture

My second undergrad major (after Creative Writing) is Multimedia and Digital Culture.  Not too many schools have a program like this one.  So what does the program even look like?  Well, you can read about it, in an article I wrote for The Odyssey Online, right here.

Major In Focus: Creative Writing

As you may know, one of my majors in college is Creative Writing.  But what does a Creative Writing major even look like?  It's not a major that every school has, at least as such.  You can read about my program in an article I wrote for The Odyssey Online here.

Keep Calm and Read This (Please)

My second article for The Odyssey Online is titled "Eleven Of The Best 'Keep Calm And...' Slogans We Shouldn't Have Forgotten."  Consider it a public service announcement.

Which slogan is your favorite?

In Defense of the Humanities, Sometimes

I need to get this blog out of hibernation!  I've had a few ideas for posts over the past month, but I just haven't put the fingers to the keyboard.  I have, however, recently joined the Odyssey Online, and I'd like to share with y'all the first article I've written.  It's called "In Defense Of The Humanities, Sometimes," and I think the title can speak for itself.  Cheers.

How's life been the past month or so?
