2012: Looking Back

 I accomplished a good bit in 2012.
  • Started this blog
  • Wrote 122 blog posts
  • Wrote over 30 flash-fiction pieces
  • Started a Twitter account
  • Read a few books, including my first sci-fi tomes
  • Assisted a Varsity soccer goal
  • Maintained wicked grades
  • Received a paper rejection with a personal note
  • Received my first half-dozen or so electronic form rejections
  • Polished a short story
  • Critiqued several chapters of other writers' manuscripts
  • Began a novelette (or long short story) that has promise

  1. That is a good amount!
You mean you've never read science fiction until this past year?

    1. That I can remember. I'm only fifteen and most of my reading until recently was either the extremely popular stuff (Harry Potter), whatever my cousin was reading, or books for Scholastic Reading Competitions, which were generally literary or mainstream.

  2. I have a feeling my definition of "wicked grades" was much different than yours. ;-) You accomplished quite a bit, Patrick. You've a promising future ahead of you, no doubt about that. I hope 2013 brings you the fulfillment of some dreams.

    1. Thank you, sir. I was indeed "Most Likely to Succeed" (urg, unintentional rhyme) coming out of Middle School a couple years ago.
